Ugly Face of Crime

Happy 1st of June! Up today, get ready to play an interactive online crime drama -- it's the launch of Crimeface Interactive [crimeface.net], a project funded by Arts Council England.

Lookit, from the site:

"Crimeface is an innovative new media project that mixes popular formats: film, literature, music and gaming. The result is an episodic hyper-narrative backed by reams of extra material that is interactive and multi-platform; playing in cinemas, on DVD, mobile phones and here on the internet."
Get ready to be transported to Union City, located somewhere in northern Europe. It is a grim metropolis riddled with crime -- I say, not much different than modern day society. We meet our protagonist, Tranz, who works in the UCPD (that's the Union City Police Department, folks) 'Modern Device Crime Unit'.

Our boy Tranz is about to receive a phone call that will change his life. (Isn't that always the start of it?) He is called in on the case of a lifetime, and it would involve a very grisly murder. The noir drama unfolds as we (players) observe and participate. Put your Crimeface on and sign-up for the excitement... Beware, who knows what evil lurks in the city?

Check the trailer above, and/or download your own copy HERE.

The trailer is available for download in formats that include: 3GP, iPod, WMV, and MOV. (You can also check out other Crimeface clips via YouTube, linked to from the trailer download page.)

Well, get over there...

NOTE: Crimeface Interactive requires a high-bandwidth to experience fully. If you don't have a broadband connection, then check the Crimeface web site later as the episodes will eventually be put up for download. [Even if you do have broadband and play along, you might still wish to have copies of the episodes for posterity's sake.]
